Here's a selection of comments from recent guests

"A wonderful two weeks with good weather, good wine and good company. The family loved the pool and the Jacuzzi, we loved the tranquillity and the Pineau!"

"It is with sadness that I write this to you as it means that our stay has come to an end and to say that I loved it here is such an understatement! Your kindness and hospitality knows no bounds, and nothing was too big or small for you to help out with. I know we will be back in the not too distant future."

"Lovely house, lovely weather, lovely time. Kids loved the pool and we loved the area."

"Had an absolutely wonderful time in our deceptively spacious 'Merlot'! Love the informal atmosphere and am going to miss the relaxed way of life..."

"We arrived four hours earlier than Penny and Hugh were expecting but the welcome was wonderful!! The gites are extremely well equipped and we wanted for nothing.  We had lots of plans for the week we were here but ended up staying around the gites most of the time as it was all so relaxing."

"Lovely stay and a very warm welcome - thank you!"

"It was very good to meet you both and spend some time on your charming property. Thank you for your hospitality, and for teaching me that power saving lightbulbs work and that useful things come from Ikea!"

"I stayed at Jonzac Gites in Pineau. As a wheelchair user finding a place to stay can be really hard, but this cottage almost gets full marks, and Penny and Hugh couldn't have been kinder. The gite is accessed through two wide doors to the front up a couple of steps however Hugh had constructed a small ramp to make it easier to get in and out. The rear terrace also has a couple of steps but it is really worth the effort to get to this beautiful private space for dining and generally enjoying the countryside views. The downstairs of this three bedroom house is fully accessible with a lovely double bedroom and a bathroom with wide doors and a good shower. There is s small seat in the shower but I took my own shower seat (available on ebay for about £25) which was rather more stable. There are no arm rests by the toilet but I put a chair next to it so I was able to get up more easily. There are two further bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and I understand from my husband that they are equally lovely.
The swimming pool is lovely and big and although it has no hoist it does have roman steps which make sliding in and out of the pool relatively easy. Hugh also helped me to get into the hot tub which was a real treat.
Is the gite wheelchair accessible? Yes to a certain degree, I am able to walk a little and this made life a bit easier for me. For those who rely totally on their chair the shower and toilet might be a bit of a challenge but otherwise I this it is a great place to stay.
Will I be recommending Jonzac Gites? Yes most definitely. And will I be going back? Already booked it."

"This has been the most relaxed holiday ever since having the children!"

"Busy again during our stay, but in between we've had a chance to relax with some good food, wine and stories. Maybe too much of the wine once or twice!"

"Nice place. We have enjoyed our stay. The region is very pretty with plenty to explore. Thanks for your tips on where to eat. All in all a very relaxing holiday."

"We'll definitely be coming back here and bring all our friends. Thanks for a lovely stay!"

"We have had a fabulous week and loved out time here. Thank you sooooo much for introducing us to Pineau - scrumptious!"

"I'm sorry we could only stay a week. We wish we could have stayed longer. We thank you both for your kindness."

"We have had a lovely holiday. Thank you for making us so welcome."
